Cookie Policy
Last updated: 7 July 2026
This policy explains how Suave uses cookies and similar browser storage (such as localStorage), why we use them, the categories we group them into, and the choices you have. It applies to our website and web app. We keep our use of cookies deliberately minimal.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device so it can remember things between page loads and visits. Similar technologies — such as localStorage and session storage — do a comparable job and are covered by this policy too. Some are essential to make a site work; others are optional and only used with your consent.
2. Categories we use
We group storage into three clear categories, which map exactly to the choices in our cookie banner:
Necessary — required for the site to function: keeping you signed in, remembering your cookie choice, and basic security. These are always on because the service cannot run without them, and they set no advertising identifiers.
Analytics — optional, anonymous usage measurement that would help us understand which features are used and where people get stuck. Not in use yet: Suave sets no analytics cookies today, so this toggle records a preference for the future and changes nothing now. Off unless you turn it on.
Marketing — optional measurement of which campaigns brought people to the site. Not in use yet: Suave sets no marketing cookies today, so this toggle records a preference for the future and changes nothing now. Off unless you turn it on. We do not sell your data or use it to build cross-site advertising profiles.
3. Essential cookies in detail
Our sign-in cookie is a signed, HTTP-only session token that keeps you logged in securely; it is not readable by JavaScript and carries no tracking identifier. We also store your cookie choice so we do not ask you again on every visit. Neither can be switched off, because the site would not work without them.
4. Your choices
When you first visit, our banner lets you Accept all, Decline all, or tick only the optional categories you want and Save choices. Necessary cookies are always on; everything else is off until you opt in.
You can change your mind at any time using the Manage Cookies link in the footer, which re-opens the banner with your current choices pre-filled.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
Independently of our banner, you can view, block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will sign you out and may stop parts of the site from working. Clearing your browser storage will also reset your saved cookie choice, so the banner will appear again on your next visit.
6. Third parties
We keep third-party cookies to a minimum. Where an optional analytics or marketing provider is used, it only runs after you have opted in to that category, and it is bound by its own privacy terms. We do not allow third parties to use cookies set through our site to build advertising profiles about you.
7. Do Not Track
Because our optional categories are off by default and only run with your explicit consent, we already honour the spirit of Do Not Track. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we continue to treat optional cookies as declined unless you opt in.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change how we use cookies, we will update this page and, where the change is significant, prompt you to review your choices again. Please check back from time to time.
